The purpose of the conference is to deepen the problem of the protection and enhancement of the archaeological heritage by addressing various aspects of the issues relating to recovery of industrial buildings: aesthetics, the possible new features, the management, the role of public authorities, illustrating various emblematic experiences.

The conference is organized according to the following thematic sessions:

  • Industrial heritage: knowledge, protection, reuse
  • Methodologies for restoration and use of industrial buildings
  • Relationships between industry and industrial archeology; institutions and policies
  • Industrial Archeology in Prato; analysis of some practical cases in Tuscany
