Brief CV of Anastasia Anagnostopoulou-Paloubi

She received her degree in “Public Administration and Political Science” from Panteion University.

She worked at the Ministry of National Defence/Navy General Staff in positions of economic interest. She retired upon her request after 25 years of service having acquired the rank of Director.

She attended various training schools and seminars and in 1991 was elected to study at the National Defence School from where she graduated with distinction.

From 1995 until 2004 she was elected to the Board of the Association of Staff of the National Defence and since 2011 she is an honorary member.

She is an active member of the Hellenic Maritime Museum since 1985 and participates in all of its activities. Moreover, in the period 1996 to 2002 she was elected Vice President of the Board of Directors and in 2003 was elected President, the first woman to hold this position since the Museum’s foundation.

In March 2015 she was re-elected for the fifth consecutive time as President.

She has shown special interest in issues concerning the demographic problem of the country and women’s military service. She is the director and publisher of the Museum’s editorial “Circumnavigation of the Naval History”.

During her tenure as President, the Hellenic Maritime Museum has organized two nation wide conferences in 2004 and 2014 where all the Maritime Museums of Greece and national cultural maritime institutions participated in.

Since 2014 she chairs the working group established by the Ministry of Culture for the “protection and promotion of traditional boats and traditional art and craft of wooden shipbuilding in Greece.”

For her contribution and work she has received numerous awards from the Association of Retired Naval Officers, the National Defence Staff Officers’ Association, the Orthodox Church of Greece, the Merchant Navy Commodores’ Association, the Yacht Club of Greece, and the magazine “Maritime Chronicle” in association with the Hellenic Association of Maritime Economists.
